Think Long and Hard

1. WHO are we selling to?

2. WHY are we selling to them?

3. Pretty doesn’t mean persuasive.

5. Don’t be different for the sake of being different.

Ask yourself: WHAT entices THEM?

This is sometimes lost in the hunt for guts and glory made incarnate by Golden Pencils and Golden Lions. While shattering the status quo is ideal, don’t ever forget why we do this.

We aren’t just trying to cop a mention in this year’s Communication Arts Advertising Annual, we are trying to persuade people. And if you don’t make the connection, then you won’t get the mention in Communication Arts. Seems pretty obvious though you’d be shocked at how many people forget that including creative directors.
